Rugori, meaning ‘Women’s Crown’, honors the women behind this coffee and highlights their dedication. This lot represents the many women who carry out the majority of coffee production in Rwanda. Rugori (Women’s Crown) Gasharu is a washed anaerobic lot produced and processed entirely by women, created to recognise their essential role in Rwanda’s coffee community. Named after the traditional crown gifted to women after the birth of their first child, it symbolises motherhood, respect, and contribution to society. With over 70% of Gasharu Coffee’s team made up of women, this lot was developed to create a more transparent framework that returns more value directly to their work. Rooted in a family-led legacy, Gasharu has long combined coffee production with community impact, including support for education in coffee-farming families. This coffee stands as a celebration of women’s work, equity, and long-term empowerment.

Keep your coffee fresh

Store your coffee airtight in a clip-sealed bag or metal tin to protect it from air and light. Let your coffee rest for 2 weeks after roasting to degas. Then it reaches its brewing flavor peak up till 8 weeks. If you won’t use it within two months, you can portion and freeze your coffee to maintain freshness.
